Merrimack Valley Philharmonic Holiday Concert Features Merrimack Valley Ringers and 12th Annual Silent Auction

The Holiday Concert this year will feature the Merrimack Valley Ringers under the direction of Karen Leonard, who is past National President of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (now known as Handbell Musicians of America).  She is Minister of Music at West Chelmsford United Methodist Church, were she directs a graded choral and handbell program of six choirs, along with serving as organist.

The concert will also showcase Trumpet Soloist Brendan McGuirk, a junior at Timberlane Regional High School who has studied under Jay Daly, Anthony DiBartolomeo and Nick Mainella. McGuirk, part of a very musically talented family, has participated in the 2012 and 2013 NH All-State Music Festival and 2013 NH All-State jazz band, as well as Timberlane Community Band and Jazz Band.  He will be performing Concerto for Trumpet in E Flat Major with the orchestra.

Preceding the concert at the Rogers Center, the doors will open at 1 PM for the orchestra's Twelfth Annual Silent Auction.  The auction will be held through intermission and winners will be announced during the concert.  Many artisans and businesses donate their time, talents, products, and services to support the arts in the Merrimack Valley.  Auction items may be paid for by cast or check only on the day of the concert.  Be sure to make this event part of your family tradition this holiday season!
