God in the Box

What does God mean to you? That was the question filmmakers Nathan Lang, Nick Calderone, Troy Browder, and Jim Manley asked during a cross-country journey with their mobile studio, The Box. The answers they received -- from scholars, religious leaders, and strangers on street corners across America --form the basis of an award-winning documentary film called God in the Box. All are welcome to this screening of the film. The Westford interfaith community welcomes newcomers to join in its year-long program based on the film. They continue to share their own answers to the question and to explore the different images and understandings of God taught by Westford's faith traditions. The God in the Box film was shown on Oct. 26, 2013, at St. Catherine's Church. This repeat showing was requested by people who missed it then.Panel discussions in the series are being held on Sunday evenings throughout the year. The first two discussions were held at Congregation Shalom in Chelmsford and at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Westford. All are welcome to attend the two remaining discussions. "How We Study Our Sacred Texts" will be held on April 6 at 7 pm at Westford United Methodist Church. "What Happens When We Die & Where Do We Go From Here?" will be held on May 18 at 7 pm at First Parish Church United in Westford. This program is funded by a grant from the Men of Reform Judaism (MRJ) Congregational Interfaith Mini-Grant Program, made possible by funding of the Jewish Chautauqua Society, MRJ's interfaith education project.
