It was a sleepy day at the polls in Westford on May 6, with
only a little more than 2,000 voters showing up to the polls, sending back most
of the incumbents running for re-election in town.
Only one challenger – Don Siriani, who ran for one of two seats on the Board of Selectmen – won, topping the ticket with 1,313 votes. Incumbent Kelly Ross will also return to the board, earning 1,210 votes. The other incumbent, Jim Jarvie, received 1,025 votes. There were also 30 write-in votes cast.
Avery Adam, who challenged incumbent School Committee members David Keele and Birgit Kohl, just missed winning by a little more than 40 votes. Kohl received 1,346 votes and Keele received 1,100, with Adam getting 1,054.
In the Housing Authority race, Muriel Drake easily bested Bernard Meyler Jr. by a nearly two-to-one margin, 1,053 to 529.
Turnout was 12.7 percent, according to Town Clerk Kaari Tari.
Other races were uncontested.
