New Limousine Service Finds Niche in Graniteville

Jim Andrews of Andrews Limousine has found a new home on Broadway here in Westford after a long journey across the Merrimack Valley through an evolving business landscape.

For those looking to get around in style, the beginning of their journey may just start in Graniteville…

Over the past 13 years, Jim Andrews has carried passengers from throughout the Merrimack Valley as owner of Andrews Limousine, but recently he’s brought his business here to Westford, setting up shop on Broadway on the corner of Church Street.

While Andrews believes that it probably wouldn’t have been feasible to begin his business at his new location due to a lack of exposure, the affordability of the area combined with convenient parking for his vehicles across the street and a long list of established clients from Pelham and Dracut to here in Westford made the move an easy choice.

“I had a very small office in Chelmsford, so I looked on Craig’s List and saw that there was an office for rent in Westford. I took a look and I loved it,” said Andrews. “You’re overlooking the pond, and there’s plenty of parking. Where I was in Chelmsford, it was in a busier area (Route 110), but the rents kept on going up.”

Andrews began his business shortly after going along for a ride with a friend who operated a limo business in 1999.

A few months later, he bought a small limo of his own to drive part time, and from there his business was born, migrating from Dracut to Tyngsboro to Chelmsford before finally coming here to Westford.

Now he faces several competitors in Westford alone, Andrews sees his business as a regional one, as well as one that builds bonds between competitors.

“You can go online and see someone say they ‘serve Westford’, but they’re in Braintree,” he said. “But we try to work with other businesses in the area, even though there are some we don’t work because they don’t provide good customer service.”

While it’s hard to tell what the future holds for his business, Andrews believes there is plenty of room to grow, with standard limousine service to his “party bus” to simple service to Logan and other airports.

“Westford doesn’t have a traditional taxi service, but in a way there are times when we fill that role with clients since we can charge similar rates, only the customer gets a town car or a Crown Victoria and the driver is in a suit and tie,” he said. “There’s a different image between a taxi company and a limousine company, and we’re not trying to be a taxi service, but there’s always a market for getting people from Point A to Point B.”

More information on the company is available the company’s website, currently all Westford residents received a 15 percent discount on the company’s services.

I had the pleasure of using Andrews Limo service for my wedding in Wilmington, MA. All his drivers arrived on-time and looking sharp. Myself, wedding party, and out of town family members were transported from Lawrence to Wilmington without a hitch. Everyone raved about the limo's and the treats inside...very nice touch. Lastly, a beautiful limo was waiting for my husband and I to go to our hotel in Boston. Thank you for making my wedding all the more special and worry free! - M. Beaumont
