Melted Lamp Led to Smoky Conditions in Spruce Road Home

Excerpts from the Westford Fire Department log for the week of June 30 to July 8, 2013

July 3, 8:35 p.m. - Three units responded to Spruce Road for reports of smoke in a dwelling. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a melted lampshade was a cause of the smoky conditions.

July 4, 12:06 p.m. - Firefighters were dispatched to a dryer fire on Lake Shore Drive South. While the homeowner was able to put out the fire before firefighters arrived, he was advised not to use the dryer again until it could be fixed by a technician.

July 4, 9:18 p.m. - A homeowner on Story Street was informed to put out a brush fire in their yard.

July 7, 2:14 p.m. - Two paramedic teams responded to Main Street after a car had hit a pole. Two occupants within the vehicle were stabilized and sent to a nearby hospital.
