End of June Held Fire at Nabnasset School

Excerpts from the Westford Fire Department log for the week of June 24 to June 30.

June 24, 11:03 p.m. – After the incident earlier in the day that activated a fire suppression system, dousing fire suppression powder on six cars and ten people, a second fire alarm went off.

 

June 26, 11:23 a.m. – Firefighters responded to reports of smoky odors in a house on Heather Drive. Upon further inspection, it was found the odor came from a nearby illegal fire from a neighbor, which was extinguished.

June 27, 6:24 p.m. – An illegal burn on Lake Shore Drive North was extinguished, and the homeowner that set it was advised of outside burning rules.

June 30, 2:14 p.m. – Two firefighter units were informed of a fire just outside of the Nabnasset School. Upon arrival, the contents of several recycling bins were discovered dumped on the ground and on fire.

 

Police investigated the matter further, and the fire was extinguished, although the recycling bins were damaged by the flame.

 

June 30, 2:01 p.m. – A business in the town center reported seeing smoke near their property, although upon further inspection, the smoke could not be found.
