5 Things for Today in Westford: Feb. 12

From Nabnasset to Forge Village, here are your Five Things for today in Westford.

#1. Put That Snow to Good Use: The Third Annual Westford Snow Scuplture Contest has been extended to Feb. 28

#2. Shut Up About Your Perfect Kid... and listen to SEPAC at the Stony Brook School on Wednesday.

#3. Half-Staff Notice: Governor Deval L. Patrick has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in honor of PFC Michael A. Gorman of Brookline who died February 5, 2013.

This gubernatorial order applies to the main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings and all state military installations

#4. Editor's Note: Hey guys, I've been getting some complaints about things on the events calendar, so I just wanted to clarify that if you've got something going on every day for an extended period (like more than a weekend), it's much better to put it in the Announcements or Local Voices section.

Things that are once a week are okay, although for anything from a for-profit organization, please keep it to a limited period of time.

If you have any questions or comments, please e-mail me at andrew.sylvia@patch.com. My ultimate goal is to make sure the events calendar and Patch as a whole is as useful as it can be to everybody in town.

#5. How Much Snow'd You Get? It's not too late to share your picture like Jane Hughes did here!
