Join the Congresswoman on Social Media for Third District Thursdays!

Congresswoman Niki Tsongas announced the beginning of Third District Thursdays, a social media initiative aimed at introducing constituents to the communities that make up Massachusetts’ Third Congressional District.

Each Thursday, starting this week on July 4, 2013, throughout the day the Congresswoman will highlight various people, places and things from the Third District on her Facebook and Twitter pages. She will be using #3DThursday in both her Twitter and Facebook posts.

Constituents are encouraged to Follow and Like these pages to get the updates. Constituents are also encouraged to participate by adding their own favorite fun facts about their communities, using the #3DThursday in their own posts to join the conversation throughout the day.

“I have made it a priority to ensure accessibility and communication are hallmarks of my Congressional office,” said Congresswoman Tsongas. “We have seen a great response to our social media pages, utilizing Facebook and Twitter to engage on the important issues facing our state and country, and to make sure the voices of Third District residents are heard. With Third District Thursdays, we will be letting the world know about the extraordinary people and places that make up our corner of America. I am excited to get this initiative going and hope you will follow along and participate.”

The Third District was previously known as the Fifth District until Congresswoman Tsongas’ most recent inauguration in January 2013. The new Third District expanded by adding 11 new communities and 159,000 new residents to the former Fifth District. In total, the Third District is made up of 37 cities and towns across three counties.
