TELL US: Does Delivery Work For Sandwiches?

D'Angelo's at Westford Plaza started doing a delivery service a few months ago, so we wanted to see if it was working out. Do you think it's a good idea?

Awhile back, we asked you if the Burger King at Westford Valley Marketplace could have survived if it had started delivering, something you overwhelming thought wouldn't have worked.

Almost across the street, D'Angelo's at Westford Plaza has began delivering a few months back, and like burgers, sandwiches aren't traditionally associated with food delivery.

So, we talked to some people at D'Angelo's to hear what they thought, and today we want to get your take. Would you order delivery from D'Angelo's? Is it a concept that can work? Or, would you try it, but just have no need?

Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

D'Angelo's is a good product so if they deliver in town, not just 110 businesses, they'll suceed. Winter is coming and it'll be handy to have food brought to us in hibernation. Please tip the help!

I've never really given any thought to getting sandwiches delivered, I usually just think "pizza" when I'm picking up the phone. I don't know that I'd order a sandwich, I usually get something delivered when I just plain do not want to cook...making a sandwich doesn't qualify as cooking to me, you can slap one together in five minutes without turning on the oven or stove, so I'm not sure it's a compelling enough product to wait for it, pay the markup to have it made and then tip the delivery person. I guess getting a cheese steak delivered might be good once and a while, but, given that we are on the complete opposite side of town from D'Angelos it wouln't be from them, it would arrive cold.

Don't most D'Angelo's locations deliver? Cheeseburger subs, even. ;) Food from Domino's on Rt 40/Rt 3 gets to Graniteville/Forge Village hot, not sure why coming up from 110 would be any different.

I'm like you Karen ... Pizza is all I ever call for, but I am lucky enough to be a spit and a throw from a pretty good pizza place so just pick it up. Sandwiches? Maybe a sub now and then but even so I think I can whip up a tasty, good sandwich in no time just like you. I always have good ingredients on hand, i.e., roasted peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, and the like so a sandwich is just as great a meal as any oven or stovetop cooked concoction and even more enjoyable. So, I guess my answer is If you work nearby a place that offers it, fine, but at home it's quicker, easier and probably more economical to pull together my own sandwich.
