Papa Gino's Vs. DiNapoli For The Title

It's been a long month, but Westford's ten pizza places have been pared down to two, and now only one can be crowned as Westford's best pizza by the readers of Westford Patch.

It might be Turkey Day weekend, but in Westford, our thoughts are on the finals of our no-holds barred quest to find Westford's best pizza in Patch's latest regular feature: The Showdown.

From the original ten pizzerias in town, Westford Patch readers have pared down the choices to only two.

(6th seed: 66 votes in the Preliminary Round, 125 votes in the Quarterfinals, 4,925 votes in the Semifinals) might be the official pizza of the New England Patriots, but they got here by the skin of their teeth, narrowly defeating Westford House of Pizza 52 to 47 percent in a matchup that went back and forth over the last few days.

Meanwhile the path here for (1st Seed: 181 votes in the Preliminary Round, 496 votes in the Quarterfinals, 6,906 votes in the Semifinals) was much more clear. Only a few feet away from the Littleton border, they've got fans in two towns as well as a strong contingent in Brazil, where friends and family of the staff reminisce of the pizza they've tried on trips here to the States.

The favorites made quick work of The Willows, defeating the Nabnasset-based pizza joint by 95 percentage points in the other semifinal.

The polls close on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m., and the winner will be crowned the next day as we begin the preliminary round of our next Showdown contest for December!

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: After consultation with our technical support department and an internal analysis of the situation, we found evidence of tampering in the poll by an unknown outside party.

In light of that, and with the approval of both Papa Gino's and DiNapoli, I've reset the poll back to zero.

We will continue to monitor the poll until it closes on Wednesday for any other problems, and we also want to remind you that this is not a scientific poll, and people are welcome to vote more than once as long as they do so through non-automated means.
