New Pet Store Fitting In Purrrrrrfectly in Westford

From cats to dogs to reptiles and birds, Laura Hines' Petthingz has found the move from Littleton to Westford to be a remarkably easy transition.

It’s been about a month, but a new pet store is already making itself feel at home here in Westford.

Located in the old location of Westford Home Lighting near the and Boch Honda West, has quickly become a part of the landscape on Littleton Road.

The business had been located on Great Road in Littleton for 17 years, before a new landlord announced the discontinuation of their lease.

Petthingz owner Laura Hines sought nearby locations and fell in love with the space in Westford last fall.

“It’s smaller than what we had, but it’s brighter, newer and fresher,” she said.

Drawing upon nearly 30 years of experience selling pet supplies in Littleton and Texas, Hines focuses on healthy and holistic products for a wide array of pets ranging from dogs to reptiles; a tactic she says has kept her core customer base intact while reaching a new set of customers.

“I’m surprised, to be honest,” she said. “Folks from Littleton are saying they’re happy to drive over here, but apparently we had a lot of Westford customers, and they’re thrilled that they don’t have to drive as far now.

Pethingz is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., closing an hour later in the evenings on Thursdays. On Sunday, they’re open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
