Several fairs are in town, and the Fire Department review remains a topic of conversation.

Another week is in the books, and we've had a variety of topic covered in the last week on Westford Patch.

Westford's Summerfest Set to Make 'Real Impact' This Weekend

It's not too late to get your tickets to two of the biggest events this summer in Westford. Blues 'n' Brews takes place on Saturday, followed by Pig 'n' Pepper on Sunday.

“We try to make a real impact with the beneficiaries,” said organizer Dan Bush. “We are sponsoring and contributing to dozens of projects up and down the Merrimack Valley.” 

Area Youths Flock to Westford This Weekend for 4-H Fair

Speaking of summer activities, the Middlesex County 4-H Fair also comes to Westford this weekend.

“Our goal is to make sure the kids have a great weekend exhibiting all of their entries, whether it be a plant they’ve grown or a horse they ride,” said Beth Dubrawski, the president and business manager for the fair. “So the best part is to see all of these kids come to the fair, have fun, and be excited at the prospect of showing off their entries and winning prizes. That’s what the fair is all about.”

Westford Benefit to Support Marathon Survivor and Rescuer

The family of Chelmsford resident Jeff Bauman is planning a September event in Westford that will help raise money for Bauman, who lost both of his legs, and his rescuer, Carlos Arredondo.

“We want the world to know he is a fighter,” said his aunt, Jennifer Maybury. “We’re going to overcome this.”
