The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Middlesex County that will remain in effect until around 10 p.m. on July 3.

The heavy humid air in place may create heavy rainfall and could cause flash flooding around the county, causing a flash flood watch, which is currently in effect.

Winds may also hit the same area, causing downed lines and wires, and potential power outages.
