Westford Scout Makes the Rank of Eagle

Mr. James Paul Finbarr Cummings of Boy Scout Troop 95 - Westford was recently awarded the Eagle Scout badge, the highest award in Scouting, at a ceremony held at the United Methodist Church in Westford.  To achieve the rank of Eagle, a scout must earn at least 21 merit badges in a number of different areas ranging from government to recreational activities.  As part of his eagle scout project, Mr. Cummings built a new 65 foot dock for Westford crew activities on Forge Pond, an undertaking which required the raising of $4,000 for the project.  Mr. Cummings is a graduate of Westford Academy and is now headed to college to study biomedical engineering.

As part of the ceremony, State Representative James Arciero presented Mr. Cummings with a Massachusetts House of Representatives Citation. Arciero is also an Eagle Scout. Pictured are Westford resident and Eagle Scout James Cummings and State Representative James Arciero.
