WA Softball Sweeps Season Series Against AB

For the first time in a long time, WA swept the season series with Acton Boxborough. On Sunday WA beat AB 10-4 at home. Monday proved to be more of the same as WA pounded out 16 runs on 17 hits for a  16-10 win.

The hits came early and often in this game lead by Emily Chateauneuf and Alexa Sullivan. On the day they accounted for 6 hits, another HR for Chateaunuf (7 on the year) a double for Sullivan and 3 RBIs each. Several players had multi hit games, Morgan Ross, Kayleigh McHugh, Ally Mooney, Meagan Scanell and Angela Alibrandi all had 2 hits.

The game was close through the second inning with WA on top 5-3. In the top of the third WA broke the game open with an 8 run 7 hit attack. The big damage was done by Scannell  with a  single blast with the bases loaded, driving in two runs. Alibrandi hit a double that knocked in Sullivan and Scannell. From there WA cruised home to the win.
