Could he be running along the railroad tracks? Thinking they will lead him home--(the tracks connect the two areas he was last seen)

Please make sure you notify all rescues, as well as police departments to report he is microchipped. Even for surrounding towns in case he wanders Poor thing with it being so cold - have you tried putting food or treats out and sitting back to watch for him? Have the people reporting sightings tried to call to him or get him to come to them or are they just seeing him? Please keep us posted as to when he's found
Jenni Lynne January 30, 2014 at 02:50 PM
We have contacted all surrounding towns police departments, who have helped with the search. We've put multiple treats and some of our families clothing where we believe he has been staying, which seems to be working. The last reported sighting was last night at 6:15 pm at Hayden Road, Groton. Thanks to everyone whose helping with the search!

You could see if the Humane Society or Animal Control might have a large humane trap you can borrow...bait it with something irresistible very close to the last place he was seen. I know that's worked for catching other spooked, shy, dogs, though you might catch something else first.

We have friends that live on Hayden Road.....I contacted them and told them about Charlie. If they him and can catch him she will notify the Westford Police. I gave her you name and address. Best wishes.

1/30 Sighted Charlie on Fletcher Hill Lane in Groton at around 5:30pm. He was running down our long driveway #12
Amanda coleman January 31, 2014 at 08:06 AM
You need to put out a trap with food in it,he walks in and door closes behind him. Is he on granite state dog recovery? usually thats what they use.
martha boynton January 31, 2014 at 08:36 AM
I am with granite state dog recovery.I have access to traps and a trail cam. If you could call me with sightings it would help greatly Charlies chances of being caught..My number is 978-835-5920.I will be in the area today..

Jenni Lynne - any luck with Charlie? Can you pm me when you have a minute - mom215@live.com
Greg Narinian January 31, 2014 at 11:35 PM
I would like to make a suggestion, this has worked before...I have assisted on many rescues, try this: Place a crate in the area of where the dog has been seen before, in the crate place a piece of clothing of a person who the dog is close with...NOT afraid of, in the crate door open and visible from the road of foot path close to the crate...the dog will smell the trace of it's human friend and either go into the crate to rest or be next to it..make sure the clothing is soiled, with this persons scent...I must say, my gut tells me there is more to this story....good luck...I have spent serveral days trying to locate this "runaway" dog.

Has Charlie been found?
martha boynton February 01, 2014 at 10:49 PM
Charlie has not been found..I do not agree with Gregs recommendation..I am with Granite State Dog Recovery and have been doing this for many years...
Carolyn Webb February 02, 2014 at 08:20 AM
Jenni, when a friend's dog ran away (after a car accident) she could only be caught by taking a neighbors dog (who she was very familiar with) to the area she had been seen. When she saw him she immediately ran over. I also know that my dog, when off leash, will always run to other dogs, not humans.
