Emerson Hospital Partners with Westford Health & Police Departments to Host Family Health & Wellness Expo
Emerson Hospital is partnering with the Westford Health and Police departments to host the Family Health & Wellness Expo on Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Emerson Westford Health Center, 133 Littleton Road in Westford.
Christine Schuster, president and CEO of Emerson Hospital, said Emerson has enjoyed a long-standing commitment to the community of Westford, having founded the Emerson Westford Health Center in 1998.

“We’re very pleased to be working alongside the Westford Health and Police departments this year,” Schuster said. “Our highest priority is promoting the well-being of local families, and they are perfect partners to assist in this endeavor.”

Westford health director Sandy Collins, RN said she hopes residents take advantage of the number of health assessments being offered. “The Family Health & Wellness Expo will go a long way toward supporting the Westford Board of Health’s focus on ensuring the protection of public health through disease prevention and health maintenance,” she noted.
The event will feature free screenings, safety tips from the Westford Police Department, flu shots, fitness demonstrations, children’s activities and more.
Registration is required at 1-877-936-3776 for the following screenings: skin cancer; lipid profile/cholesterol (with a 12-hour fast required); prostate specific antigen (PSA); thyroid function; pediatric concussion testing; glaucoma; and adult flu shots.
No registration is required with screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, vision, pulmonary testing, flexibility, balance, feet, pediatric flu shots (ages 3 and older), Lasik evaluation and the colorectal take-home screening kit.
Family fun and safety activities will include bike and car seat safety, face and finger painting, safe mercury disposal and more.
