Dora the Explorer came to town!

The UFund Start U Reading program came to the JV Fletcher Library Wednesday  September 18 bringing a special guest – Dora! Children were treated to a special story time talking about what they wanted to be when they grew up. Books inspired children to dream about becoming astronauts, explorers and even circus performers.  After the book was read and futures were planned, children were treated to a special visit with Dora!

The U.Fund Start U. Reading Series is one of MEFA’s statewide early college planning initiatives designed to introduce young students’ to the joy of reading and literacy through interdisciplinary activities.  Participants had an opportunity to meet Dora, have their photo taken, and receive a goody bag filled with materials and a brand new book.
