Children can learn valuable life lessons from organized sports. Playing on a team encourages physical fitness, skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. As parents and coaches, we know the positives. But we can’t ignore the dark side: the pressure, the bullying, the elitism, and the lack of playfulness. We’re hyper-focused on winning, at all costs, and that mindset can destroy even the most enthusiastic athlete.
