Thursday's the First Day of Spring: What Are You Looking Forward to Most?

Cold temperatures start the week, but seasonable ones are on the horizon.

Looks like spring is going to roll in with springlike temperatures later this week. Yes we've been teased with a day on the 50s followed by a day of frigid temperatures for quite some time now, but meteorlogically speaking the end is in sight. (Just try not to remember the April Fools Day blizzard of 1997)

The National Weather service says after a very cold start to the work week, temperatures are expected to moderate to more seasonable levels by the middle to end of this week. However, there are signs another shot of very cold air will work its way into the region by early next week. In fact, we could be dealing with near record cold. Don’t shoot the messenger.

With that, it’s certain everyone is tired of the cold weather and ready for spring, which we know has a history of also teasing us - but with summer like temperatures.

Did you know in March 2012, the Boston region had seven days with high temps over 70 and an 83 degree day to top it off? At the same time, many areas of Pennsylvania were enjoying temperatures over 50 degrees. What we wouldn’t give for that right now.

What are you looking forward to most about spring’s return? The ability to open your windows and air out the stale winter air from such cold months? Or to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air, take walks or start working on your garden? Tell us in the comments section below.
