Hello There, Westford Bear

A reader on Villanova Drive took a picture of this bear walking around the neighborhood.

There have been a number bear sightings recently in Westford including Villanova Drive. Westford Patch reader Patti took this picture this morning (March 7) and sent it to Patch. Another reader noted on our Facebook site that she saw a bear earlier this week on Plain Road, right near by Villanova Drive. It could be the same one but usually, with bears, where there is one, there are more.

It should not be a big surprise to see bears and other creatures out and about in early March, especially since that neighborhood is near a number of conservation areas.

Last week, a reader on Morrison Lane, on the north end of town, took pictures of bobcats frolicking in her yard.

Have you seen any bears or other wildlife around town? Share your pictures here on Patch in the Town Square section

Well, I can tell anti-bear ugliness when I see it. "Boo Boo Bear" is my SISTER, and that is a family nickname, NOT a "stripper" name before anyone gets any ideas about her purity. Sirs DiRico and Moleman: I will, with much regret, be forced to involve my attorney should the attacks against my family continue. Any apologies can and should be made now to Cousin Vinnie (A BEAR) my sainted sister, Boo Boo, (Also a BEAR and that's TWO capital Bs in her name, thank you) and to me as well. Aside from the testosterone driven destruction of a bird feeder (Vinnie says sorry again; he agrees to pay for that) of one Ms. Cory Ryan (who appears to be a kind and gentle lady; she feeds woodland birds!) I cannot image how mistaking and defiling my family members is enriching this thread. Please cease all negative comments regarding my family. Restoration of your dignity and good neighborhood reputations are but one heartfelt apology away. Good day to you Sirs; I say, good day!............................. Respectfully------ Sir Reginald (Rubber) Arthur Bearington (Band) the III

LOL ---> Did Boo Boo have the "change"? ---> When the ZEROs collecting grudge holders defile a thread (they do it often) they need a dope slap. Given the topic here Boo Boo came to mind, I now realize Scare Bear is a closer fit for Herman Munster. Any relation to Scare Bear? ---> I apologize for taking poor Boo Boo's name in vain.

Thank you. My sister did not have any sexual reassignment surgery...and any further discussion or comments made about her sexual identity will again signal my request for further apology. Since I am a Gentlebear, I will take your efforts to smooth the waters in good faith. I will consider this subject closed, and no longer comment on what appears to be a struggle between the left and the right/ the red and the blue...Since we bears were here first, but no allowed to vote (I don't fit in the booths anyway... last time I tried to vote "animal control" was called and I awoke feeling very "Summer of 64 Spring Break" hungover...Those darts pack a wallop.) I acknowledge your apology and we have no Scare Bear in our family tree. Proceed as you will.

Thanks for the thoughts on the alternate bird feeders. I am going to shop this weekend for the ones that affix to second story windows like you suggested. If I see the bear peeking in my second story window, I will be a little upset, but expect that is rather unlikely. Rubberband, you are "not the average bear" as Yogi said.

The Delightful Ms. Ryan: I find your desire and on going commitment to feed the area birds endearing and as I said before, kind. I think the second story feeding area should prove to be successful; you can see them clearly thru a window, and even Cousin Vinnie, who is very determined, won't be able to pester the birdies as they munch. I hope that your property will safe from all hormonal bear intrusion. (He's sorta the crazy one in our family, however his apology is heartfelt, the big lug-head)...Please keep your eyes open for a gift that should find its way to you...Be well, golden haired protector of wild birds...I think of you like a sister of St. Francis of Assisi.
