Who needs a Liquor license (or 2)? Westford BOS has done it again...

If you need a Liquor license in Westford, all you have to do is ask!?

The BOS has granted not 1 but 2 additional liquor licenses in Westford, as 'acceptions' within the Cornerstone Big Pig project...1 for Burton's Grille, 1 for Westford wine and spirits.  Damned be 3 other package stores within a Quarter mile of Cornstone that are LOCALLY owned and operated and have helped develop Rt. 110 to begin with I guess!?!?

What a shame the BOS has yet again hand picked who they want in their clique...the local owners of (all) the Package stores will now have their incomes slashed and some probably be forced to close (much to the joy of the Westford W&S owners mind you).  Liquor licenses are considered a business asset, which can be sold or transferred and often the sale/transfer involves a broker to fascilitate the sale.  It is part of the planning and reason of getting involved in such a business.  Well with each 'acception' guess what happens to that asset??  Same as your home values people...I mean why try and buy a license when all you need to do is get 100 signatures and ask for one? This happened 2 years ago and the package stores trying to fight back, you can sign a petition in their stores to help their cause..go today!

The BOS never makes a decision based on the affect it will have on others or in the future...have at it Westford, sell booze on the Common and to whoever wants a license, it's the Age of Exceptions after all...no need to follow rules around here.  Only in Westford! Go Grey Ghosts!

Joe, thanks for sticking up for us package stores that have acquired our licenses the right way. We appreciate people like you who care about local business and longtime tax payers in this town. Please vote no on article 19 at the town meeting on Monday and help us put a stop to the additional license. We do not want another package store in Walkerville. We already have more than Chelmsford, and they have 10,000. More residents
