Whole Foods vs. The Gun Ban: Which is a Bigger Story in Westford?

We'll have the answer on Monday! But in the meantime, tell us what you think.

The gun ban issue has brought so much attention that it shut down town hall , but with almost 500 likes on Facebook in about 12 hours, it's possible that something might have eclipsed it in terms of importance for Westford residents.

We'll have the answer for you on what was the most read story of this week on Monday, but in the meantime, what do you think is a bigger issue to Westford: the gun ban warrant article or the announcement that Whole Foods is coming to town?

Correct. It's tentatively scheduled for 2016. Talked with the Whole Foods spokesperson this morning, left a message with the Market Basket person, will try to get a follow up ready ASAP.

If a supermarket (organic or not) is more important than our civil rights, we might as well pack it up now and give up. Let's just set up the dictatorship now.

Which is more important? Really? Unles the second "shot heard 'round the world" is fired from behind the shushi bar at Whole Foods, I think the answer to that question is a no brainer!

Hmmm...let's think about this. On the one hand, you have a store - granted a very nice store, but still just a store. On the other hand, you have an infringement on our constitutional rights, as well as a guaranteed law suit that will drain badly needed town resources.

Gee, I guess the store is much more important.

I have to assume that this is either a rhetorical question or a headline thrown up there to fire people up and get them to comment on the article.
For anyone that needs to familiarize themselves with article 30 , here is a short youtube video:

From what I've heard the Whole Foods is going to be in Littleton at the The Point not at the old Market Basket location. As for Article 30, either the people of Westford will come to their senses and vote this down, or we will get sued by G.O.A.L.

Hi Steven,

Can't speak for the Point, but it will be going into the old Market Basket in 2016.

As much as I love the thought of a WF here, tons of residents will be in jail, fined, or will have moved out long before 2016 if the bylaw passes. If WF wins, it's an indictment of our collective American Jersey Shore/American Idol stupidity.
