VIDEO: Samuel Fitch House Celebrates Its 300th Birthday

One of Westford's most historical homes celebrated the date of its original completion with tours and period reenactments brought together by proprietor Lynne Smithwood.

On September 18, 1711, the final nail was hammered into what was the first incarnation of the in what was then the western district of Chelmsford.

Over the years, the house and its surrounding property has grown, shrunk and ; a history that was celebrated with the public on Sunday by proprietor Lynne Smithwood, her extended family, and a host of historical reenactors.
