TELL US: What Should Go Into The Old Westford Valley Marketplace Christmas Store Space?

The holidays are here, and we're wondering what should go into the place where the Christmas Store was last year.

This year, that seasonal Christmas store at Westford Valley Marketplace has moved a few doors down, leaving an open spot just right across from the McDonald's stoplight on 110 waiting to be filled.

Any new banks or stores selling liquor, toys, stationary, sports apparel, video games, electronics, groceries, pizza, or donuts would face some stiff competition from the current neighbors. Still, would it be possible for a store in one of those categories to move in? Or maybe something else? Or will it remain empty for awhile?

And of course, how will the emergence of Cornerstone impact tenancy there?

Let us know what you think in the comments!

A good ethnic soul food joint that will bring Westford folks into contact with people of color from Fitchburg and Lowell, the type of joint that does ribs, collard greens, corn bread, chitterlins, corner pone with tripe..Not another lillywhite Panama Bread or Starbucks

Not taking into account state laws, that wouldn't work under Westford zoning laws.

You can't have adult stores within 750 ft of residential properties (that one is 750 ft away from Fieldstone Dr.) or anywhere that serves liquor onsite (BBC)

Not nearly enough room for a HD or Lowes. Apple or Outdoor store gets my vote.

Still would LOVE to see a Trader Joe's in the Market Basket spot.

A gourmet specialty shop would be a grand addition.

While I am sure the Selectmen would want another Market Basket or Liquor Store, I would want an Apple store or Martial Arts studio.

I think the store we are talking about is too small to become WF or Trader. And as I remember WF and Wegmans already told us that they are not interested in our location. I also have a feeling that Cornerstone developer knew about it when he was selling new gourmet store to us. Why WF does not like our location?! May be by 2016 when lease for original MB will be over WF will change their mind? Should we start a petition?

I hope Wegmans opens something closer to us than Northboro. The prices are competitive enough that I could do all of my shopping there and stop needing to hit 3 or 4 different stores every time.

+1 on Wegmans. One supposed to be opening in about a year in Burlington. They have extremely competitive pricing although I find it depends what you buy. The fish counter does have some unique choices but it is a bit expensive. Though, they sell family sized packs of more common fish like Atlantic Salmon at a fair price. Still, I think it is about a 10% savings over MB pricing.
