TELL US: What Impact Would A Casino Have on Westford?
The Boston Herald reported last week that a Canadian firm may be interested in coming to Littleton. If that occurred, what impact would it have on Westford?
Last week, the Boston Herald reported that Clairvest, a Toronto-based casino company, is looking at Littleton for a possible location for their bid in the upcoming selection for the state's four gaming licenses.
The report did not indicate whether the company was looking at a full or slots-only license, or where exactly in Littleton the proposed casino might be located.
We've asked you about your thoughts on casinos as a whole, but today we want to ask you a casino in Littleton specifically, how would it impact us down the road here in Westford?
If you opposed casinos before, would you change your mind like Holyoke mayor Alex Morse did until recently and try to steer a casino here to Westford instead to obtain something in exchange for the possible negative impact of having a casino close by?
And on that note, is there anywhere in Westford that would be a possible location for a casino?
Let us know what you think in the comments.

Don't waste your time. It's not going to happen.

Yawn. I'd rather waste money in sunny, dry Las Vegas or nearby Mesquite wth my Joshua trees and Lake Mead desert wilderness.

A great addition to either Kimball Farms or the ski area

If a casino came to Westford, I would move. Things have already gotten out of hand in the 110 area (where I live) so a casino would be the final straw for me.

Yeah, we'd move from Westford too if a casino comes in town or in a town next door. Would suck to have to leave.

It's proven that crime goes up in towns surrounding casinos. More specifically, robberies. I don't want them in the state, never mind the town next door. At first I thought, who cares, its no big deal. But as I look into it more and more I think it will have many lasting repercussions that won't be easy to reverse.
