Russell Terrier in Nabnasset Survives After Pit Bull Chews Through Fence And Attacks

The following are reports from the Westford Police Department.

Jan. 17, 9:00 p.m. – Boxborough Police requested assistance with a mysterious tractor trailer truck that was hauling a log chipper that was believed to have been stolen.

After further inspection, the chipper was discovered to not have been stolen, but attached to a business policy in Maine and sold at an auction after repossession.

Jan. 20, 10:47 p.m. – Acton Police informed Westford Police of an erratic driver heading down Route 27, which was corroborated by Carlisle Police who saw the vehicle.

The vehicle was ultimately stopped before entering Westford.

Jan. 20, 9:15 a.m. – Two dogs were reported fighting in Nabnasset, a pit bull that attacked a Jack Russell terrier.

The owner of the pit bull explained that this was the second time the animal chewed through a fence on their property and showed aggression. In addition, the owner agreed to pay for any veterinary bills and follow any recommended steps with the dog, including euthanization if necessary.  

The Russell terrier survived, but was in serious condition a day after the incident.
