The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association revealed its playoff brackets over the weekend, and this year's postseason will include a trio of Westford Academy teams, all of which are ranked third in their respective brackets.
Boys Basketball Hoping to Continue Recent Momentum
Westford Academy toppled North Andover in a recent regular season game, and that's a big reason their 16-4 record was good enough for the No. 3 seed.
The Grey Ghosts host No. 14 Haverhill in the opening round of the tournament on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. With a victory, the team would advance to take on either Lynn English or Somerville.
Girls Basketball Hopes to Fight Off Upstart Foe
In its opening round tilt, the Lady Grey Ghosts welcome No. 14 Revere to town on Wednesday at 7 p.m. A victory would propel the team into the quarterfinal round against either Lexington or Boston Latin.
Girls Hockey Hits the Ice With High Expectations
Led by the calm demeanour of head coach Todd Fletcher, the Westford Academy girls hockey team enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed in Division 1.
After its opening round bye, the Grey Ghosts will take on either No. 14 Watertown/Melrose or No. 19 Arlington in the first round. The date, time and location for that game have yet to be determined.
