NH Woman in Exit 32 Crash Had No Insurance
The following information was supplied by the Westford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Feb. 24, 6:00 p.m. - While on patrol, an officer discovered two vehicles near the 495 North onramp on Boston Road involved in a collision: a Toyota Land Cruiser that was struck by a Nissan Xterra.
The Land Cruiser was traveling north on Boston Road and was operable after being hit by the Xterra, which was not operable, with its driver failing to yield at the intersection.
Upon further investigation, the Xterra driver did not have insurance, with the driver telling the officer she was struggling financially and since she was a New Hampshire driver, was under the impression she did not need insurance.
The officer said that a vehicle owned by a Massachusetts non-resident for more than 30 days while being used in Massachusetts must carry insurance equal to the minimum levels of insurance required of Massachusetts residents.
Her vehicle was subsequently towed and she was issued a citation.
March 12, 1:15 p.m. - Walison DeOlivera, 24, of 250 Barker Ave. was arrested on charges from a warrant from a previous incident.
