Alleged Liquor Store Robber Arraigned In Lowell

Michael Whitcomb has been indicted of alleged crimes relating to a Littleton Road liquor store robbery in October.

 

Middlesex County District Attorney Gerry Leone has just informed the public that a Beverly man has been arraigned on charges alleging he violently assaulted a female clerk of a Littleton Road liquor store during a robbery attempt near the beginning of October.

Michael Whitcomb, 41, of Beverly, was arraigned according to Leone in Lowell Superior Court on charges of unarmed robbery and assault and battery.

He was put into custody in late October, while his alleged accomplice, Jennifer Avola, 33, of Danvers, was arrested in the same time frame.

Lowell Superior Court judge Paul Chernoff orderded the defendant be held on $50,000 cash bail.

These charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney Pamela Wechsler. The victim witness advocate is Maura Ryle.
