Five Things for Today in Westford: Sept. 10

From Nabnasset to Forge Village, here are your Five Things for today in Westford.

 

 

#1. Half-Staff Notice: Please be advised that Governor Deval L. Patrick has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Monday, September 10, 2012 in honor of U.S. Army Sgt. Tyrone A. Hines, of Boston who died September, 4, 2012.


#2. The Westford Land Preservation Foundation... and the Sudbury Valley Trustees will host another walk of the O'Brien Farm (pictured) from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday September 23.

The two groups are half way the $100,000 fund raising goal, and pledges from residents are very welcome. It is hoped to have the full amount by the October 15th town meeting to add to the $760,000 unanimously recommended for appropriation by the Community Preservation Commission.

#3. Tonight's Rehearsal Night... for the Nashoba NYO.

#4. Meanwhile, Tuesday... has an adult health maintenance clinic at the Cameron Senior Center.

#5. Beginning Crochet... teens can learn how to make either a pillow or bag while learning the basic stitches and techniques of crochet.  The class will focus on chain, single, double, and treble stitch.   $68/$65 Sept. 11 to Oct. 16 (6 Tues) 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
