I have deer whistles on my truck. Usually mounted with adhesive, they're supposed to emit a sound we cant hear, but spooks the animal into freezing still, instead of leaping out in front of you. Not fool proof; I believe they've helped many times. Out West roadsigns light up if sensors pickup a herd of elk, deer or antelope in the dark. Moose and deer are a big problem East; I once saw a black bear run across road in the Delaware Gap, eastern PA at dusk. Watch it out there!
