An 18-year-old male was taken by medical helicopter to UMass Worcester Hospital after he hit a tree near the intersection of Palace and Tadmuck roads at about 4 p.m. Friday.
Westford Police said the Westford Fire Department operated two sets of “JAWS” to extricate the victim.
The male was treated on scene by Westford and Lowell Paramedics before a Life Flight Helicopter from UMass Worcester Hospital was dispatched and landed at . According to scanner reports during the incident, the man sustain serious head injury.
The Helicopter was heading southbound at approximately 5 p.m.

The accident is under investigation by Westford and State Police. There was no word on the man's condition shortly after the accident.
