Bobby Valentine Fired; Do You Agree With the Call?

The Boston Red Sox fired Valentine after an unsuccessful year at Fenway Park.

The Boston Red Sox Thursday announced it has fired manager Bobby Valentine after the team experienced the worst season in decades.

In fact, the 69-93 record was the team’s worst since 1965 and the first time the team has finished last in the American League East in more than a decade.

Valentine’s one season at Fenway Park was full of losses and run-ins with players. Valentine, who led the New York Mets to the World Series in 2000, followed Terry Francona, a fan favorite who was dismissed a year ago after taking the team to two World Series titles.

We want to hear from you: Do you agree with the call? Was Valentine to blame for this year's horrible record? Who or what kind of manager would you like to see at Fenway Park?

It was the right call by management but I don't think all the blame for the lousy season can be put on Valentine's shoulders. Everyone has to share the blame, from management to the players. There is always next year.

I've been hearing that John Farrell, the manager of the Blue Jays, is the top pick for the job. Who do you all think will be the final choice?

Adios Bobby V. Why in tarnation did Bosox let Adrian Gonsolez go anyway? Home run hitter. I liked seeing Mike Lowell on list for new coach; it's too bad upper mgmt .make so many poor decisions. In years past they let go Fred Lynn and Carleton Fisk. Same old same old. Tony Francona got us 2004 and 2007-you never know what you've got til it's gone.

Correction: I believe it was Terry Francona who won 2 World Series.
