What a DISASTER traffic will be when this place opens in a few weeks...school is back and so is the traffic already! I saw a delivery truck (big rig) exit Cornerstone on Boston Rd, taking a right towrds rt 110...it had to pull straight out because of the narrow Cornerstone driveways before it could turn right and the truck occupied ALL 3 LANES!!!! The truck also had to wait 2 full cycles of the traffic lights before making its turn...and the traffic was OUTRAGEOUS for a morning commuter! Wait til this place opens, its gonna get UGLY REAL FAST! And I still do not understand how Cornerstone is allowed to open AND THEN DO THE ROAD UPGRADES & CONSTRUCTION to accomodate the acknowledged major increase in daily traffic! Thank god there is a new MB going in though...well that and Panera, the entire rest of the square is pretty worthless IMO...

Any idea when the Panera is opening ? It seems like they are way ahead of the other shops.

What's going to happen to old MB? Or why do we need an old used one, when we can cut some trees and get new shiny MB?

People dont care when the New MB is going to open...People want to know the traffic plan and the inconvenience that is going to take place this fall when they expand RT 110 to 3 lanes...Can you give the readers some of idea of the plan = and stop giving the builder all this publicity...People are not happy - I hope you get that sense.

110 is so backed up already. The buildings look great but I don't think the roads can handle all the additional traffic. There have been times I've been at the Emerson Bldg and wanting to make a R on 110 to get back to Boston road and both roads are backed up and the stores aren't even opened yet.

How about a sidewalk all the way downhill from Westford Center so citizens can WALK DOWN THERE instead of driving? Hello! Does that make any sense or is Boston Rd just a car freeway only? What is this town govt thinking or are pedstrians a violation of the bylaws? Come on? Boston rd still the main artery from 110 and an interstate leading into Westford proper is it not? Hey they get to be accountable for all this, if they cant take it, get out! Our neighborhoods turn into feeder roads for more impudent drivers, endangering my quality of life. I 'm just a voice in the jungle.

Andrew- I understand that you report on it often because its a major news item in town. Other business are being affected and if people start avoiding shopping or doing other commerce on 110 and that affects other businesses - thats news too. When people are late for work or appointments, that is a major quality of life issue.

This is one of the biggest developments in Massachusetts right now. (Really, it is) It also has the potential to be a huge issue for the folks in the town. That's your story - not what day is Five guys, Market Basket 2, and Petco opening.

Please report on the whole picture for the town sake - please,

Sprawl in the center, kicking our teachers in the gut so we can pay them less, drugs in the high school....yep Westford has sure changed for the worse!

and now we have 2 markets baskets to employee our kids.....

Or perhaps it is the inevitable development of a town, standard contract negotiations with a union and the same exact drug use as always just more publicized.

When you are sitting in traffic for 20 minutes backed up past Tadmuck Rd to Minots Corner - you wont be feeling that it was "inevitable".

I do that now each Tuesday afternoon for everyone's beloved Flea Market in the center of town.

You can wait 20 minutes for locally grown produce or a Market Basket apple.

No, I wait 20 minutes to get up Boston Road to go home. I am not going to buy any produce, handbags, wine, pictures etc. When i go to MB, is is not at 5:30PM. I wait for the rush to be over with.

Prospective tenant here... Im just wondering how receptive you all are to the small businesses that are going to be moving into the square. I know it might seem like a burden to some but remember that by having this, gives people an opportunity to create a business and to potentially become successful. When the sqaure is filled up it is only going to bring in more tax dollars for the town. However the success depends on the how receptive all of the local townspeople are to it. Cornerstone square gives someone like myself a big opportunity to make an enterence into a nice community that could possibly be an up and coming suburb... Look at Wellesley and Sudbury for example they weren't always a "rich" town but having businesses and school is what will propel Westford into its next generation. I feel that Westford has a step up from those towns because of how easy it is to get in and out of it via 495, which will help C.S.S. be a regional player in the shopping world. If you look at retail as whole, shopping malls like, Burlington, Natick, Emeralds sqaure, South shore and North shore plaza are all going down hill every other few stores are closed or are having a huge blow out sale to clear inventory... Cornerstone square is really a one stop shop. You can drop of you watch for a battery, buy your groceries, pet supplies, clothing, grab a snack, meet a friend outside to chat and a coffee, pick up your watch from the battery change and be done.

Yes, Westford is conveniently located off 495 but my biggest concern is the traffic for us locals. These roads are already congested at rush hour and now there will be even more cars. There have been many times I've come out of the Emerson Health bldg and had to make a right on to 110 and it was backed up to the 110/Boston Road light. The new stores/business are going to make it harder to get around.
