Bank Robbery, Bowhunting, Big Shot in Basketball

A busy week in Westford.

The big news in town this week was the robbery of Eastern Bank Wednesday. It was the first bank robbery in Westford in several years. The suspect is still at large. The Westford community reacted with sadness.

In the good news department, the Westford Academy boys basketball team had a huge week. On Monday, coach Ed Scollan netted his 300th victory. Then on Thursday, sophomore Justin Mount hit the game-winner as WA topped Acton-Boxborough to win the Lowell Holiday Tournament. Watch the video of Mount's dramatic shot.

At a Selectmen's meeting, a Chelmsford resident was concerned over the board's recent decision to allow bowhunting in a forest near Gage Lane. The resident said it was too dangerous.

Nashoba Valley Ski Area had a big week, as school vacation and a blizzard combined to make people come out in droves.
