Verizon FIOS is my gripe. Slow inconsistent service, repeat sign in box, no e mail inbox? On the phone which works, I was told server is out. Otherwise I'm satisfied my power never went out, lights flickered Mon. nt. was all. At least I'm not in Hoboken.

For those still without power: After going through last year's storm, why didn't you buy a generator?

Nothing in this life is 100 percent certain, and as we've seen recently, that extends to basic utilities. After last year's storm, you had a year to prepare, to assess what needed to be done, and to take steps to make yourself less reliant on the existing infrastructure.

re: privatization: Concord still had 100+ customers without power as of yesterday, only slightly less than Westford. Half of Concord has underground power lines, paid for by a surcharge on monthly electric bills.
