Nashoba Tech Mock Trial Team Rests Its Case

Nashoba Valley Technical High School’s Mock Trial team recently finished its third season of competition against other local high-school teams in courtrooms in Leominster and Concord district courts. The team includes, front row, from left, Nicole Holmes (junior, Lowell), Kassandra Wetterwald (sophomore, Shirley), Julia Phelps (sophomore, Lowell), Celia Sullivan (sophomore, Townsend) and Anna Schrank (junior, Lowell); and, back row, from left, Mikayla Madsen (senior, Pepperell), Connor Howard (senior, Ayer), Tia Donoghue (sophomore, Pepperell), Janet Kiongera (junior, Lowell), Deborah Kelly (junior, Shirley) and team adviser Lacey McCabe, a social-studies teacher at Nashoba Tech. In Mock Trial, students take on the roles of prosecutors, defense attorneys, defendants and plaintiffs to argue a particular side of a fictitious case that is based on current events.
