Nashoba Tech Duo Honored in Video Contest
Two Nashoba Valley Technical High School students earned an honorable mention in a fire-safety video contest.
The YouTube Burn Awareness Video Contest tasked Massachusetts high-school students with producing a video between one and three minutes long that explores burn-prevention topics, is well researched, is educational and informative, and does not demonstrate risky or unsafe behavior.
Sixty teams from 10 high schools across Massachusetts submitted videos, and six received prizes. Nashoba Tech’s team of juniors Rebecca Reese of Chelmsford and Sofia Reppucci of Pepperell received one of three honorable mentions awarded. In all, four Nashoba Tech teams submitted videos.
The first-place team is from Millis High School, Sharon High School was second, and teams from Masconomet Regional High School of Topsfield received a third-place award and two honorable mentions.
The contest is sponsored annually by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, the Massachusetts Association of Safety and Fire Educators, and the Massachusetts Property Insurance Underwriting Association.
