Jim Jarvie challenges for Selectman
Jim Jarvie recognizes the many issues facing Westford and is motivated to address them. Jim has a strong business background that positions him well to help confront the challenges our town faces today. He will bring his experience and skills in efficiency and cost containment to Westford public services.
Jim has, throughout his business career, worked to build relationships and seek out and consider the opinions and perspectives of others. He will work to foster better communication and a collaborative relationship between town departments, citizens, and the business community in finding solutions to our financial pressures, while maintaining Westford’s high standards for delivering services. Jim moved to Westford in large part because of its excellent school system. He will work to ensure our high educational standards are preserved. Jim will also solicit state representatives to reduce the burden of unfunded, and under funded state mandates.
As a member of the Board of Selectmen, Jim will advocate for the board’s keen focus on critical challenges facing our town and resist actions that waste town resources or are outside of its purview.
Jim is an accomplished business professional with 18 years of experience in procurement, contracts, and logistics. He has a proven track record for developing and managing corporate procurement functions, establishing programs to meet cost reduction objectives, and implementing systems to increase operational efficiency.
Jim is currently spearheading strategic sourcing initiatives, and developing strategies to optimize spending at Constant Contact, a global email and social media marketing company. He is Constant Contact’s Manager of Procurement & Travel.
Jim has an established track record of public service. He served three years in the U.S. Army as an Automated Logistics Specialist. He also served three years as a volunteer Auxiliary Police Officer in Wilmington, MA. Jim currently is a member of the Westford Energy Committee, and volunteers in the community for many school and youth programs including youth baseball and soccer.
Jim and his wife Camille relocated to Westford from Waltham and are devoted to raising their son Brady, who attends the Westford Public Schools.
Jim’s professional experience, coupled with his passion for public service, will enable him to be a highly effective member of the Board of Selectmen.
